Withdrawals
Withdraw to a personal bank account in one of eight currencies, or to your own crypto wallet. You always see the exact amount, the destination and every cost before you approve with your passkey.
Bank or crypto wallet
- Bank account
- Your balance is converted to USDC and sent to our bank payout partner, which pays your bank in your account’s currency (USD, AED, AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HKD or SGD). SOL is swapped to USDC on Solana; ETH on Robinhood Chain is bridged and converted to USDC on Base. See Currencies and banks.
- Crypto wallet
- The same asset on the same network, sent from Relay’s settlement wallet to the address you saved and approved: SOL or USDC on Solana, ETH on Robinhood Chain, USDC on Base where available. No conversion. Relay covers the network fee.
The withdraw page shows which methods are open for each of your balances right now. Saving a bank account in a currency does not by itself open a payout route.
Personal bank accounts only. Business bank accounts are not supported. Bank withdrawals need your confirmation that the saved account is a personal account in your own name; details saved before this confirmation existed must be confirmed once in Bank account settings. This is your statement: Relay does not verify the account type. Wallet withdrawals are not affected.
Costs and minimums
- Relay platform fee: 0% today.
- Bank withdrawals: the conversion (swap or bridge) and our payout partner’s transfer and deposit fees reduce what is sent. They are shown as estimates in the quote, separately from network fees, which Relay covers.
- Wallet withdrawals: the exact amount your wallet receives, in the same asset. Relay covers the network fee.
- Minimums to a bank: 0.05 SOL, 10 USDC or 0.002 ETH per withdrawal, and at least $5 after costs.
- Minimums to a crypto wallet: 0.05 SOL, 1 USDC (on Solana or Base) or 0.002 ETH. There is no conversion or partner fee, and Relay covers the network fee.
- A quote is valid for a short time. If it expires, request a new one.
USD funding and your bank’s currency
A bank withdrawal is quoted in US dollars: the USD funding that is sent to our payout partner for your transfer, after the conversion and costs. You also approve a minimum USD funding. If a conversion would come in below it, the withdrawal stops and asks you to accept the new amount or cancel; nothing is sent to your bank meanwhile.
Non-USD accounts
Withdrawal statuses
- Balance reserved
- Your passkey approved the withdrawal; the amount is set aside for it.
- Converting · Preparing transfer
- Relay is converting your balance and funding the bank transfer with our payout partner.
- Ready to send
- The funds are with our payout partner and the bank transfer is queued for Relay’s operations team.
- Bank transfer sent
- The transfer has been sent. Arrival depends on your bank’s processing time.
- Paid
- The transfer completed. For non-USD accounts, the credited amount is shown once confirmed.
- Waiting for your confirmation
- The conversion came in below your minimum; accept the new amount or cancel.
- Returning to your balance
- The bank payout could not be sent; the funds are on their way back to your Relay balance.
- Returned by your bank
- The transfer was completed, then your bank sent it back. The funds are on their way back to your Relay balance; nothing is credited until they arrive.
- Returned
- The funds are back in your balance (see below).
- Failed
- It did not go through; the reserved funds are back in your available balance.
- On hold · Checking status
- Paused for review, or a step is being confirmed before anything else happens. Your funds stay reserved.
- Wallet: Sent · Delivered
- Sent to the network, then final on chain (seconds on Solana, around 20 minutes on Robinhood Chain and Base).
How long it takes
- Wallet withdrawals are sent automatically and are final once the network finalizes them.
- Bank withdrawals are sent by Relay’s operations team through our payout partner. This is a manual step, so it is not instant. After the transfer is sent, arrival depends on your bank and the transfer route; some banks take one or more business days. Relay cannot speed up your bank.
- Our payout partner may occasionally need more information before it pays. If that happens, Relay contacts you.
If a bank payout cannot be sent or is returned
- If Relay cannot send your bank transfer, or the partner confirms it failed, the withdrawal shows Returning to your balance. Your funds stay reserved for you while they are returned.
- If your bank sends a completed transfer back to our payout partner later (for example because the account was closed), the withdrawal shows Returned by your bank. The earlier “Bank transfer sent” and “Paid” steps stay in its history, and the funds come back to your Relay balance the same way.
- When the returned funds have been verified on chain, they are restored to your available balance in the asset and network they came back as, usually USDC on Solana or USDC on Base. Nothing is credited before that.
- Our payout partner charges fees when it is funded and when funds are withdrawn from it, so what comes back can be a little less than was reserved. You get exactly the net amount that came back, and the withdrawal shows it, for example “118.00 USDC came back after our payout partner’s fees (2.00 USDC of the 120.00 USDC reserved)”. If part of it did not come back for another reason, the withdrawal says so.
- You can then withdraw again: to your crypto wallet, or to your bank once the issue is resolved. USDC on Base goes to your EVM withdrawal address, USDC on Solana to your Solana address, from 1 USDC. Adding a withdrawal address needs your passkey, and a new address has a short security hold.
- A transfer that has already been sent is never cancelled and refunded while it might still arrive: it is investigated first.
